Build Tables and Graphs Help

The Build Your Own Table and Graph feature gives you access to the complete comprehensive data contained in the International Transport Statistics Database. Below are step by step instructions explaining how to use this feature.

1. Choose a data set to interrogate from the DATA SETS menu.
2. If you would like a title on your Table or Graph enter this in the CAPTION box.
3. Drag and drop one parameter from those available from the list into the COLUMN DIMENSION box.
   
4. Drag and drop at least one parameter from those available from the list into the ROW DIMENSION box.
   
5. If you would like to constrain the data retrieved (i.e to show only certain countries or certain years) click on the filter icon on each of the parameters to set your desired criteria.
   
6. Select either the BUILD TABLE or BUILD GRAPH button at the bottom of the page to generate your results.
   
7. To view the sources of the data retrieved click the SHOW SOURCES button at the bottom of the page.
8. To view your results in csv or xml format click the VIEW CSV & XML button at the bottom of the page. Copy and paste this into Excel or your chosen programme.
9. You can toggle between Tables and Graphs by selecting the TABLE VIEW or GRAPH VIEW tabs at the top of the Builder window.
10. To change the type of Graph displayed click GRAPH in the menu bar at the top of the page, select GRAPH STYLE from the drop down list and pick from the list in the pop-up box.
